The Superhero called ‘Dad’

The greatest gift
I ever had
came from God;
I call him Dad!

Dads are special and I am glad to have one! Since childhood, my dad has been a calm and sweet person. In fact, he is more lineant than my mom and have always been our rescue person during mom’s punishments. I haven grown learning some good virtues from him and he has always influenced me with the goodness of life.

Any man can be a father,
but it takes someone special to be a Dad.

He is a health-concerned person and has always been particular about how we should maintain our health. He has always told us that health is the best ever wealth a person can possess and if we are healthy and strong, we can achieve anything we desire. And the most important gift health can give us is independence and freedom. While, an unhealthy person is dependent on others. He still carries that notion and since childhood, he would make sure that we had honey, dates and lots of water during the entire day. Thanks to his concern, we have good skin and are healthy from within.

Dad,
you are not an anchor to hold us back,
nor a sail to take us there,
but a guiding light whose loved shows us the way.

Dad has always been the person to whom we would look upon for motivation. He has always been a determined person and would achieve whatever he lays his eyes on. He has inculcated this quality in us. He has always said that nothing is impossible and we must always give things, a try. And during times when we fail, he would tell us that failures are important as they give us the reason to succeed the next  time. I thoroughly feel the truth in his words. And for me, success and failures are both important.

When my father
didn’t have my hand,
he had my back.

Despite all his teachings and goodness, I solemnly remember moments when I would have thanked him for being so good and patient. I barely remember moments when I would have thanked him for listening to me and believing in me, when others didn’t. I rarely remember moments when I would have hugged him and told him, how much I love his presence and what he means to me. But, on the occasion of his special day- father’s day, I take this opportunity to thank him and hug him for being the best dad and the best human being, he has always been.

Love you Dad 🙂

There’s a special kind of feeling
when I think about you, Dad.

It’s a pleasure to remember
all the happy times we’ve had.

There’s a special kind of caring
that is meant for you alone.

There’s a place somewhere
within my heart
that only you can own.

This father’s day, I am expressing my love towards my dad by participating in the #HugYourDad activity at BlogAdda in association with Vicks.
