You are never too old to set another goal or dream a new dream.
— C. S. Lewis
True that! Every day is a new opportunity and every new moment is a new window to tomorrow. I never believe in the idea of new years because for me, every day is anew, fresh and brimmed with opportunities and happiness. Hence, I take each day as an inspiration to do my best.
But, I do believe, that many look up to the new year 2016 as a new beginning and hence, I wish to share my inspiration and ideas with them, which further would influence them to create new dawns and horizons in their life.
I’ve always loved the idea of poetry and quotes to inspire others, as they are small packet of motivation which convey a lasting idea. Hence, I would be sharing a beautiful poem (Sonnet) by none other than Shakespeare, with my readers which would motivate and inspire my readers with new ideas and resolutions for their new year and beginnings.
That time of year thou mayst in me behold
That time of year thou mayst in me behold
When yellow leaves, or none, or few, do hang
Upon those boughs which shake against the cold,
Bare ruined choirs, where late the sweet birds sang.
In me thou see’st the twilight of such day
As after sunset fadeth in the west;
Which by and by black night doth take away,
Death’s second self, that seals up all in rest.
In me thou see’st the glowing of such fire,
That on the ashes of his youth doth lie,
As the deathbed whereon it must expire,
Consumed with that which it was nourished by.
This thou perceiv’st, which makes thy love more strong,
To love that well which thou must leave ere long.
I hope this beautiful and inspirational Shakespeare Sonnet brims you with great motivation and prepare you for a beautiful new year and new beginnings.
Now a question! What is your view on New years? Do you own a new year resolution? Share it with me. Or do you believe in every day as a new opportunity? Whatever your view, do share it in the comment section, I would love to know!
I am still confused about the New Year – maybe it is my uncertainty about future speaking 🙂

I’ve been inspired by a Facebook friend to resolve to do something I like to do, but tend to put off. My friend resolves to go to lunch with a different friend each week. Otherwise she puts this off and isn’t as connected to her friends as she likes.
For two years I’ve resolved to watch one old movie a week. By doing so, I’ve discovered over 100 rich, novel movies from all over the world. I’ve broadened understanding of films. Also, I now find most modern movies quite insipid.
Another thing I do is I choose a word to live into. For 2016, my world will be – Write. I will finish more writing projects and write some new works.

I agree! Every day is a new day. Still, I also like to have moments throughout the year, throughout the week, throughout the day, when I like to start fresh, to assess where I have been and where I am going. I like the New Year for that reason, to develop new ideas, new plans, new ways of looking for the coming season. I shouldn’t need a New Year for that, but it does help me to remember to assess my progress.
Instead of making New Year’s Resolutions, I let my dreams in the weeks surrounding the New Year offer me images and ideas, and then I choose a word or phrase that I use as my guiding word for the next season of my life.

I stopped making New Year’s resolutions many years ago, but it still feels good to “start fresh” every January 1. I, too, choose a word for the year (or rather, it chooses me), but so far haven’t decided on one for 2016. Thank you for visiting me at Trigger’s Horse, and Happy New Year! – Fawn

My resolutions for the new year revolve primarily around better selfcare (I’m diabetic) – with one exception – to start learning Latin!

Thank you! Work is getting more and more intense (our company is being aquired and the future is uncertain) – so I will have to fight to stay focused on what’s truly important (and not merely worrisome)!
