One of the most prestigious school level competitive exams in India, National Science Olympiad (NSO) is conducted for the students of 1st- 12th standard to acknowledge their academic talents. Every year, thousands of little geniuses participate in this exam which is organised by the Science Olympiad Foundation (SOF).
The exam is divided into two levels and aims to recognize the academic ability and potential of talented students by giving them a national platform. The students who qualify the levels with flying colours are then felicitated with attractive cash prizes, medals and certificates, all depending on their scores.
If you or any of your known one is willing to participate in NSO and wants to know more about the examination, we would advise you to keep reading.
Here is Everything You Need to Know About the National Science Olympiad Exam
Eligibility
The participants appearing for the NSO should be the students who are studying in classes 1st to 12th. In addition, the students can only participate if their school is participating in the exam.

It is an objective-type test with a duration of 60 minutes comprising 35 objective-type (Multiple Choice) questions for class 1 to class 4 and 50 objective-type (Multiple Choice) questions for class 5 to class 12.
Level 2: The second level is conducted for students of class 3 to class 12. The eligibility of the students who can appear for the Level 2 exam has already been discussed in the previous pointer.
Registration
Registration Forms: Science Olympiad Foundation sends prospectus that contains the registration forms to every school that can dully fill it and submit to SOF within the stipulated time. The schools that do not receive the prospectus may request for one by contacting the Foundation either via call or mail at info@sofworld.org. Every school must have at least 10 participants to be a part of NSO.
Fees: The students are required to pay a nominal fee, part of which is used by the school for the expenses as exam centre. Other necessary information about the payment mode and charges are explained in the registration forms.

Important Dates
The Level 1 of National Science Olympiad is conducted on two dates, and the schools can choose a date as per their convenience. However, the decided dates cannot be changed in future.
Level 1 Exam Date: 9th and 23rd November 2017
